Moderate Quake Strikes Indonesia’s Talaud Islands

Kuala lumpur: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck the Talaud Islands in Indonesia at 1.33 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia stated that the earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometres and occurred 33 kilometres east of the Talaud Islands. The agency confirmed that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia following the quake.
