Meru raya: The Ministry of Health (MOH) is offering paramedical training programmes at the Institute of Health Training (ILKKM) to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers to strengthen the country's healthcare workforce. The announcement was made at the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026 Perak held at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a total of 11 diploma programmes and one certificate programme are available, with training durations of three and two years respectively. The fields offered include nursing, medical and health sciences, medical laboratory technology, pharmacy, physiotherapy, medical imaging, dentistry, and public health.
Applicants must generally have credits in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics, and at least one Science subject, as well as a pass in English, although specific requirements vary by programme. The MOH Training Management Division stated that applications are open online via the Public Service Commission's SPA9 system at spa9.spa.gov.my/login.
Successful candidates will receive a federal scholarship of RM835.57 per month for diploma programmes and RM755.06 for certificate programmes. Additional allowances for books, projects, equipment, and uniforms are also provided. Graduates will be appointed as paramedical and auxiliary personnel within the MOH healthcare service upon completion of their training.
