Kuala Lumpur: All mosques and surau under the supervision of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) have been ordered to perform solat hajat for Palestine throughout the remaining days of Ramadan. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, emphasized Malaysia’s solidarity with the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing conflict.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the directive is a response to the recent escalation in Gaza, highlighting the Malaysian government’s condemnation of Israel’s actions. The minister described the recent airstrikes by Israel on the Gaza Strip as a violation of the ceasefire agreement, resulting in the deaths of 404 individuals, including women and children, and injuring 562 others.
Muslims across the nation are encouraged to pray for the safety and victory of the Palestinians. The statement reflects Malaysia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to addressing the injustices faced by the Palestinian people.
