M’sia Cup: JDT Dominates KL City FC to Secure Spot in Final

Johor bahru: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) advanced to the final of the Malaysia Cup with an 8-1 aggregate win over Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City FC), thanks to a 4-1 victory in the second semifinal leg match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium here tonight. The defending champions entered the match with a comfortable four-point aggregate advantage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JDT created several scoring chances in the first half but were unable to capitalize on them. However, the team intensified their efforts in the second half. Bergson Da Silva opened the scoring with a header in the 49th minute, and Muhammad Syahmi Safari quickly followed up with another goal, putting the Southern Tigers up 2-0 by the 51st minute.

Bergson further extended JDT's lead with his second goal of the match in the 58th minute. Although KL City FC managed to score in the 67th minute through Giancarlo Gallifuoco, JDT's Ajdin Mujagic sealed their victory with a fourth goal in the 89th minute. This performance highlighted the defending champions' stronghold on the local football scene.
