MTEN Meeting Evaluates Global Energy Crisis Impact and Emphasizes Public Protection

Kuala lumpur: The National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting held today reviewed the impact of the global energy crisis, with the main focus on protecting the people and ensuring the security of the country's strategic supplies. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that efforts to curb leakages and smuggling would continue to be strengthened through tighter supply chain monitoring and the integrated implementation of Ops Tiris 4.0 involving various enforcement agencies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that the MADANI Government also prioritizes the security of medicine and medical device supplies through centralized stock monitoring, diversification of import sources, and emergency plans to ensure critical needs are always sufficient. Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, added that in the long term, the government would strengthen strategic buffer stocks, develop local industries, and formulate a comprehensive policy through MyMedSecure.

Furthermore, the MTEN reviewed haj operations involving 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims, with priority given to their safety and welfare. Anwar assured that the MADANI Government would continue to act in an orderly and responsible manner to manage the crisis effectively, ensuring the people are protected and the country remains resilient.
