Muhammad Aiman, Adania Carry World Juniors’ Winning Momentum Into SUKMA

Selangor: Selangor pairing Muhammad Aiman Syahin Sulaiman and Adania Mohd Redzwan carried their winning momentum from the World Junior Championships into the Selangor Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026 stage after emerging champions in the mixed doubles event today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Selangor pair knocked down a combined total of 2,468 pins to claim the gold medal, leaving the Federal Territories in second place with 2,450 pins, while Penang took bronze with 2,400 pins.

Last July, Muhammad Aiman and Adania won the mixed team event at the Sarawak Megalanes World Junior Championships, defeating Finland 2-0 alongside Adelia Nur Irwan Syazalee and Ethan Damien Goh. Malaysia defeated the Finnish quartet of Juho Vuoppola, Roni Leskinen, Julia Vesanen, and Tiiamari Laukkanen 255-180 and 222-209 using the Baker format.

Muhammad Aiman, who is competing in his first and only SUKMA edition, described today's victory as particularly meaningful after admitting that his performances in the men's singles and doubles events had been below par due to the challenging lane pattern. He expressed pride in winning the gold medal in the mixed doubles, despite the difficulties faced in other events.

Meanwhile, Adania, who has won two gold medals and one silver so far, acknowledged that their status as world junior champions also came with pressure, but stated they chose to use it as motivation to continue improving. She emphasized the importance of good communication and mutual support in their success.

Adania also achieved success in the women's doubles event, partnering Adelia to win gold for the host contingent.
