Baku:Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hasan has urged Muslims to perform solat hajat (special prayers) in response to the haze affecting the country.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zulkifli made this call in a Facebook post, requesting that the prayers be held simultaneously at all mosques and suraus in the Federal Territories.

He expressed hope that these prayers would lead to divine intervention, saying, "The haze is worsening, our weapon is prayer. I urge that solat hajat be held simultaneously at all mosques and suraus in the Federal Territories. May Allah SWT shower His blessings and beneficial rain."
