MyEG Required to Settle Payment Before Resuming Operations

Kuala Lampur:Transport Minister Anthony Loke emphasized that MyEG Services Bhd (MyEG) must fully settle its outstanding payments before any application to resume operations can be considered.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke maintained that the ministry's position is firm; the full payment must be settled prior to any request for resumption of operations being entertained. He reiterated the government's expectation for the payment to be made, stating, "We stand by what we have said. We are expecting the payment."

Loke addressed this issue following an event at Menara Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) that involved the handover of notification letters for special rate payments for houses of worship and capital-assisted schools. The event was also attended by the Transport Ministry's secretary-general, Datuk Seri M. Jana Santhiran.

On October 5, Loke announced that the services of MyEG and Zetrix AI Bhd as collection agents for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) were suspended. This action followed their failure to transfer RM314 million in revenue collected from May 19 to September 30 to the government. Despite receiving 35 reminders and ongoing engagement with authorities since May, the companies did not settle the outstanding amount.
