Kota kinabalu: The National Farmers' Organisation (NAFAS) continues to reinforce its commitment to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security's (KPKM) initiatives through its participation in the National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen's Day (HPPNK) 2025 celebration in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 50th edition of HPPNK, which will be held from August 1 to 3 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), is expected to draw over 500,000 visitors. The event will feature four strategic focus areas: Agro Millenia, Sufficient and Guaranteed, Sejahtera Madani, and Agro MADANI Sales.
As one of the sponsors of HPPNK 2025, NAFAS continues to play a key role in supporting the development of the country's agro-food sector, particularly in Sabah, through a comprehensive approach involving youth participation, industry advancement, and the strengthening of strategic cooperation networks. NAFAS is collaborating with the National Fishermen's Association (NEKMAT) to organise the second edition of the e-sports series under the Agro Millenia segment, featuring 32 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams competing for a prize pool of RM10,000. Entry is free, and winners will receive cash prizes, plaques, participation certificates, and exclusive T-shirts.
The event will also include meet-and-greet sessions with local gaming and e-sports influencers, such as Ikuto, Kuro Sensei, and Sunfrost, who will provide live commentary throughout the Mobile Legends tournament. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy interactive activities, including Kahoot games, arcade machines, PlayStation 5 games, and virtual reality (VR) experiences.
NAFAS will participate in the HPPNK Pavilion segment, showcasing the padi industry chain, covering technical aspects, types of fertilisers, and support services for farmers. They will also set up a counter offering information on investment and financing opportunities in the agriculture sector. A highlight at the NAFAS pavilion will be the agricultural machinery exhibition and counter, featuring a CASE machinery demonstration to expose farmers to the latest technologies in agricultural mechanisation.
Additionally, HPPNK 2025 will feature the participation of two NAFAS subsidiaries, NAFAS Bajakimia Sdn Bhd and NAFAS Agri Services Sdn Bhd, which will offer fertiliser sales, technical advisory services, and share experiences on the use of Peladang brand agricultural inputs. The event will also host a Jawab dan Menang contest and Lucky Draw, offering prizes such as motorcycles, PlayStation 5 units, gold wafer coins, and electric scooters.
NAFAS's participation in this edition of HPPNK aims to reinforce its presence not only in Peninsular Malaysia but also in Sabah, aligning with efforts to bring agricultural services closer to the people.
