Putrajaya: The 2026 National Day Prime Minister's Address Ceremony at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here has been scheduled for 2 pm, according to the Ministry of National Unity (KPN).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the adjustment was made after taking into account current developments, particularly to ensure the safety, health, and comfort of guests and the public, in addition to ensuring the smooth implementation of the ceremony.

The 2026 National Day Prime Minister's Address Ceremony is regarded as an important platform to reflect on the aspirations and hopes of the MADANI government leadership. It aims to fuel the spirit of independence, strengthen patriotism, and nurture a sense of love and responsibility towards the country.

The Ministry's statement invited all Malaysians to attend the event to celebrate the spirit of National Day. It emphasized fostering values of mutual understanding, respect, and acceptance of diversity as essential for building a nation that continues to progress, remain harmonious, and prosper.

The National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2026 Celebration Working Committee under the Ministry of Communications had earlier announced that the Prime Minister's address ceremony had been moved from Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur to PICC due to the current haze conditions.

It was previously reported that Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) director-general Dr. Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip indicated that hazy weather conditions were expected in Sabah from tomorrow. High haze concentrations could occur in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya until August 31.
