Klang: Transport Minister Anthony Loke emphasized that the National Day celebration should serve as a platform to unite Malaysians and express their love for the country through the nation's primary symbol, the Jalur Gemilang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke pointed out that despite recent incidents involving the improper display of the flag, Malaysians must focus on the true essence of the Jalur Gemilang, which stands for unity. He stressed the importance of incorporating love for the nation into daily life, particularly for the Port Klang community and the logistics sector.
He articulated the necessity of strengthening the logistics sector, recognizing its crucial role in facilitating trade and supporting the economy. These remarks were made during the Port Klang Community Fly the Jalur Gemilang Programme held at the Port Klang Authority Social and Recreational Club building. During the event, Loke presented the national flag to 100 haulier drivers working in the vicinity of the port.
Loke also highlighted the government's commitment to the development of Port Klang through several new initiatives, including the proposed establishment of a third port at Carey Island. This initiative aims to bolster Port Klang's status as one of the world's busiest ports, thereby benefiting the local community and propelling national economic growth.
He noted that Port Klang and its community will continue to reap significant economic benefits from various projects, while offering opportunities for players in the logistics industry to contribute their energy, ideas, and efforts towards national development. Loke expressed hope that the campaign would not only elevate the spirit of flying the Jalur Gemilang but also inspire the Klang community to further advance Port Klang.
