Seberang perai utara: Police are investigating a viral video on a riot involving a group of individuals believed to have taken place here yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Anuar Abdul Rahman stated that this action followed a report of the incident lodged by a local man at the Butterworth Police Station.

Investigations revealed that the incident occurred when the complainant attempted to assist a motorcyclist involved in a road accident. During the attempt to help, the motorcyclist unexpectedly got up and punched the complainant, which led to some passers-by joining in the altercation.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code, which deals with rioting. Anuar has encouraged anyone with information about the incident to reach out to the investigation officer, Sergeant Muhammad Adib Ikmal Sukri, at 04-576 2222 (ext. 2275) or contact any nearby police station to assist in the investigation.
