Beaufort: The number of flood victims in Beaufort has increased to 336 individuals from 119 families as of 8 pm tonight, a significant rise from the 258 people from 89 families recorded at 8 am earlier today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat (JPBN) announced in a statement tonight that all evacuees are currently being accommodated at the Selagon Permanent Relief Centre (PPK), which was established at 3 pm yesterday to manage the crisis effectively.
The JPBN statement detailed that of the total evacuees, 181 are adults and senior citizens, while 155 are children and infants, emphasizing the diverse age range of those affected by the floods. Moreover, the statement confirmed that a total of 10 villages have been impacted by the floods, though fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far.
