Kuala Lumpur: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar has called for the party to be allocated 13 seats to contest in the upcoming Sabah State Election (PRN).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nurul Izzah emphasised the necessity for the party to engage in negotiations with the president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to secure these seats. She stressed the importance of deploying the party's full machinery to support the campaign in Sabah, expressing hope for strength and success in their movement.
The call was made during the winding-up session of the president's policy address at the PKR National Congress 2024/2025, which saw attendance from Anwar, who also serves as the Prime Minister, PKR Advisory Council chairman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and other party leaders.
In her address, Nurul Izzah highlighted the importance of unity among party members post-election and encouraged continuous efforts in initiatives aimed at assisting the populace.
Speaking with reporters after the congress, Nurul Izzah urged all candidates from the recent party elections to maintain the spirit of camaraderie. She underscored the need for all members, regardless of election outcomes, to adhere to the principles of support and vigilance within the PKR leadership.
