Pahang: The Pahang state government is proposing the organization of football leagues for the Under-17, Under-15, Under-12, Under-10, and Under-eight categories as part of its efforts to strengthen sports development within the state.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Bodies Committee chairman Datuk Fadzli Mohamad Kamal expressed optimism about the anticipated positive response from the people of Pahang regarding this initiative. He also highlighted the active implementation of the 'Menawan 11 Puncak' programme by the Pahang Youth and Sports Department across the state's 11 districts. This program has gained significant attention, with participation consistently reaching full capacity and attracting participants from outside the state, thereby indirectly boosting the tourism sector in Pahang.
Datuk Fadzli Mohamad Kamal made these remarks at the Pahang State Legislative Assembly sitting at Wisma Sri Pahang in response to a query from Datuk Rodzuan Zaaba (BN-Jenderak) about proposals for additional programs or special funds to support sports tournaments at district and state constituency levels, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among the community.
Meanwhile, state Public Works, Transport and Health Committee chairman Datuk Razali Kassim announced that Pahang is expected to receive 53 Type B ambulances, with distribution projected for 2027. This is contingent upon approval, the finalization of the procurement process, and the supplier's delivery schedule. Currently, 55 ambulances in good condition are operating across 94 health clinics throughout Pahang.
Datuk Razali Kassim clarified that while the distribution, placement, replacement, and maintenance of ambulances fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government through the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Pahang state government remains attentive to the needs of its people, especially those in rural and interior areas. He made these comments in response to a question from Mohd Zakhwan Ahmad Badarddin (PN-Tahan) regarding the state government's measures and plans to ensure that every health clinic in Pahang, particularly those in rural areas, is equipped with at least one fully operational ambulance.
