Pahang: The Pahang government has been urged to consider implementing a rental assistance initiative specifically for the urban B40 group to help ease their financial burden. The proposal was put forward by Chan Chun Kuang (PH-Semambu), highlighting the rising cost of living faced by this segment of the population.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chan emphasized the importance of focusing on the urban B40 to ensure they are not further marginalized. He made these remarks while debating the state Budget 2026 at the Pahang State Legislative Assembly. In addition to rental assistance, Chan suggested the creation of a Pahang-Federal Project Coordination Unit to streamline bureaucracy and accelerate project implementation within the state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail interjected during Chan's debate to address matters related to non-Muslim places of worship. He advised any parties interested in these issues to contact the Pahang State Secretary's Office. Chan had called for a dedicated grant to support maintenance and equipment purchases for non-Muslim places of worship.
Rizal Jamin, an appointed assemblyman, proposed the establishment of a digital studio to allow for professional content development and production. He suggested this could begin as a pilot project in selected areas, targeting participants of state government training programs.
Additionally, Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji (PH-Tras) proposed the construction of a food stockpile warehouse as a precaution against unexpected emergencies or disasters.
