Kuantan: The Pahang government has set aside RM10 million to prepare for the Northeast Monsoon (MTL) season, including the early delivery of aid to 167 forward bases across the state. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail announced that RM3.3 million from the total allocation was distributed today for the initial delivery of about 230 tonnes of dry food aid, which is expected to be completed within 17 days.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the distribution of this aid is a routine practice for the state government, as floods occur annually. The recent Central Disaster Management Committee meeting has forecast heavy rain in early January next year. Wan Rosdy shared these details with reporters after flagging off the aid delivery mission at Wisma Sri Pahang.
The aid distribution is set to begin in Rompin before extending to other districts across Pahang. Wan Rosdy personally inspected the items to ensure they are in good condition and have a long shelf life. The dry food items include rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, canned chicken curry, sardines, coffee, tea, and biscuits.
