Kuantan: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, expressed his pride after the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, successfully completed the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Special Air Service (PASKAU) Basic Course. His Royal Highness highlighted the significance of this achievement for the royal family during the Royal Banquet held in conjunction with the Closing Ceremony of the PASKAU Basic Course Series 32/25 at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was attended by notable members of the Pahang royal family, including the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and other distinguished guests. Al-Sultan Abdullah also acknowledged the Chief of Air Force, General Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, who completed the PASKAU specialist training alongside Tengku Hassanal, marking his inclusion in the elite forces despite his previous role as a fighter pilot.
The Sultan emphasized the importance of maintaining rigorous training standards to ensure national security. He also officiated the rank conferment ceremony, promoting Tengku Hassanal from Captain to Major in the RMAF, effective October 18. The ceremony included the presentation of the Blue Beret, Blue Lanyard, and PASKAU Dagger to the newly recognized members of PASKAU.
General Muhamad Norazlan highlighted the demanding nature of the PASKAU specialist training, which began in July and included modules such as special weapon shooting and combat air rescue. Of the initial 53 participants, only 22 completed the course, showcasing their discipline and commitment. Second Lieutenant Muhammad Riduan Rahman was recognized as the Best Participant, citing his dedication and endurance throughout the challenging training period.
