Pahang State Assembly Offers Condolences on Passing of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi

Kuantan: The Pahang State Assembly today conveyed its condolences to the family of Malaysia's fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who died last Monday. State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin shared his sentiments during the assembly session, highlighting the significant initiatives undertaken during Abdullah's leadership, including Islam Hadari and the establishment of the Judicial Appointments Commission.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Sharkar emphasized Abdullah's role in transforming Malaysia and noted that his contributions would be remembered across political divides. Abdullah's tenure as Prime Minister, from October 31, 2003, to April 3, 2009, followed the resignation of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Abdullah passed away at the age of 85 at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur at 7.10 pm. Born on November 26, 1939, in Bayan Lepas, Penang, he served as the Member of Parliament for Kepala Batas and left a lasting legacy in Malaysian politics.
