Jeddah: The Palestinian Foreign Minister, Farseen Shaheen, engaged in discussions regarding the current state of affairs in Palestine with the foreign ministers of Qatar, Algeria, and Malaysia. These talks took place on the sidelines of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Shaheen met with Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, accompanied by the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Hadi Shibli, and First Counselor Nassim Al-Zaanin. Al-Muraikhi emphasized the severe situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, highlighting issues such as genocide, killings, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, the limited humanitarian aid, and the incomplete opening of crossings essential for the population's access to basic needs. She also pointed out the escalating settler terrorism in the West Bank, which poses a serious threat to Palestinian lives and their presence on their land. Shaheen also discussed financial challenges faced by the Palestinian government due to the Israeli occupation and the withholding of Palestinian tax and clearance revenues. She stressed the necessity of activating the Arab financial safety net to support the Palestinian people's resilience and institutions. Al-Muraikhi reiterated Qatar's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and advancing the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with an eye towards progressing to the second phase of President Trump's peace plan. In further talks, Shaheen expressed gratitude to Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf for Algeria's steadfast support of the Palestinian cause. She outlined the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and the violations of the ceasefire declared by Israel. Shaheen informed Attaf about the crimes committed by settlers under military protection in the West Bank, including the forced evacuation of the Qa landia Vocational Training Center by occupation authorities, which contravenes international law. Attaf reaffirmed Algeria's unwavering support for Palestine in overcoming current challenges. Shaheen also briefed Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Sri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hassan on the hardships faced by Palestinians, including the genocide and scarcity of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. She urged for practical measures from Arab and Islamic nations to protect Palestinian rights. The Malaysian Foreign Minister expressed his country's continued support for Palestine, particularly through assistance to UNRWA and Palestinian NGOs.
