Perak: Perak police are conducting, and will continue to conduct, a series of intensive training programmes for officers and personnel tasked with safeguarding the state's royalty and leaders, to enhance their operational readiness while on duty.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, State police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin stated that the initiative aims to strengthen and streamline security measures for the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, to prevent any recurrence of undesirable incidents. The Special Actions Unit (UTK) has reinforced security for His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Shah. Furthermore, recruitment has opened for new escort officers for the Sultan of Perak, as part of efforts to streamline and strengthen security arrangements.
Noor Hisam made these remarks after officiating at the closing ceremony of the 'Ter..Paling Pahlawan Challenge 2025' organized by the Hilir Perak district police headquarters at Padang Speedy. The initiative follows a recent high-profile incident where a woman attempted to attack Sultan Nazrin during the state-level National Day celebration on August 31. The 41-year-old woman, who was reported to have a history of psychiatric treatment, was detained and charged in the Ipoh Magistrate's Court on September 8 under Section 352 of the Penal Code for attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
