Kuala lumpur: Petronas has established a special task force to monitor and address any issues in the implementation of the Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) initiative at its stations nationwide.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Petronas Dagangan Bhd chief operating officer Azureen Azita Abdullah stated that the team, in collaboration with technical partners and station operators, is conducting 24-hour monitoring to ensure the system operates smoothly. She emphasized that there have been no issues beyond their control, and any problems that arise are quickly detected and resolved. This was mentioned during her inspection of the BUDI95 rollout at the Petronas Jalan Reko 2 station in Kajang, where she was joined by Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association (PDAM) president Datuk Khairul Annuar Abdul Aziz.
Azureen highlighted that Petronas is enhancing communication and training for the task force, noting that the primary challenge in the initial weeks is assisting users in understanding the new procedures. She assured that all staff and station operators have been trained, and each station is equipped with a help desk. She mentioned that while more detailed explanations may be necessary in the early days, the process is expected to become routine and run smoothly in due course.
Meanwhile, Khairul Annuar remarked that many station operators have employed additional staff to assist customers, particularly senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs), with the subsidised fuel process. He noted that although transactions have been generally smooth, some customers still require direct assistance. To address this need, operators are providing additional materials such as infotainment displays, printed leaflets, and social media updates.
The BUDI95 initiative has commenced with a total of 16 million eligible Malaysians beginning to receive benefits from 12 am today. Under this initiative, RON95 petrol is priced at RM1.99 per litre compared to RM2.05 previously, with each eligible individual entitled to up to 300 litres a month.
