Kuala lumpur: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Wanita chief Fadhlina Sidek has urged party members to remain election-ready at all times and not wait for Parliament to be dissolved before making preparations. She emphasized the ever-changing nature of the country's political landscape, highlighting the potential for shifts in alliances and negotiations among political forces currently in government.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina, who also serves as the Education Minister, stressed the importance of immediate readiness within PKR ranks, reminding members that as seasoned politicians, they should be aware of the prevailing political dynamics. She underscored the need for PKR to maintain its strength regardless of members joining or leaving the party, rallying the spirit of perseverance and belief in the possibility of national change.
In her speech at the PKR National Congress 2026, Fadhlina called for a more significant role for women within the party, advocating for increased leadership opportunities rather than limiting them to campaign support roles. She highlighted the importance of involving women in the decision-making process to build credibility among female voters and demonstrate PKR's commitment to women's leadership.
Addressing governance, Fadhlina urged both party and government leaders to remain open to criticism, especially when decisions reveal weaknesses. She emphasized the need to prioritize the people's mandate for genuine progress over pursuing popularity or easy solutions. Fadhlina welcomed constructive criticism as part of the party's internal improvement process, encouraging a family-like atmosphere where open dialogue leads to better governance.
