Kota kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his condolences to the family of Sabah UMNO chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who died early this morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, a long-time friend of Bung Moktar, expressed his remembrance of the Kinabatangan MP and Lamag state assemblyman as a firm, principled, and outspoken figure who championed the people's interests. He highlighted Bung Moktar's dedication and service in the political arena, especially to the people of Sabah and the country, which will continue to be appreciated and remembered.
Anwar shared his condolences in a Facebook post, stating, "I pray that his family is granted strength in facing this loss, and may his soul be forgiven all his sins and be placed in a special position by His side, Insya-Allah. Al-Fatihah."
Bung Moktar, aged 66, passed away at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu at 1.46 am, as confirmed by his son, Naim Kurniawan Moktar. His body has been taken to his home in Luyang, Sabah, where it will be buried later today.
