Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today expressed his appreciation to all civil servants for their dedication in carrying out their duties despite facing various challenges and criticisms. He also thanked the Chief Secretary to the Government, the Public Service Director-General, the Cabinet ministers, including the Deputy Prime Ministers, as well as all government officers and employees for their contributions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar reiterated his gratitude, acknowledging that the country's success is heavily reliant on the excellent contributions, sacrifices, and services provided by these individuals. His address was part of the 20th edition of the Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX) gathering, organized by the Public Service Department (JPA) in collaboration with INTAN. The event saw the participation of Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, as well as Cabinet ministers, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
Also in attendance were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Director-General of Public Service Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz. The programme was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
Anwar emphasized the strong support from Cabinet Ministers for MAPPA XX, highlighting the positive relationship between the country's leadership and the civil service. He noted that such gatherings, fully supported by national leaders, indicate a strong synergy between the leadership and civil servants.
Earlier at the event, Anwar announced several new initiatives aimed at strengthening the civil service. These included improvements to the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) service scheme, financial incentives under the Academic Recognition Awards (HPA), and allocations for enhancing the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN). He stated that these measures align with the government's commitment to improving the efficiency, professionalism, and welfare of civil servants at all levels to ensure the national development agenda is effectively implemented.
