PM Anwar Receives Courtesy Call From UKEC

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from the United Kingdom and Eire Council of Malaysian Students (UKEC), which represents over 16,000 Malaysian students in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, during the meeting, UKEC, led by Vincent Tang, proposed opportunities for strategic cooperation between the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Higher Education, and UKEC in various fields to be explored based on existing policies.

Anwar mentioned that he sought the views and suggestions of UKEC on addressing the long-standing issue of 'brain drain' that has affected the nation. He shared this information in a Facebook post following the meeting.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of leveraging and optimising the existing policies and structures established by the Federal Government. This approach aims to prevent the duplication of structures or policies and ensure continuous engagement and discourse. Additionally, it will help coordinate various issues effectively and systematically.
