PM Anwar Urges Malaysian Diplomats to Enhance Economic Diplomacy

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called upon Malaysian diplomats to bolster the nation's economic diplomacy efforts, focusing on attracting trade, securing high-quality investments, and exploring strategic cooperation opportunities that could empower sustainable national economic growth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, highlighted these priorities during courtesy calls from 13 Malaysian Heads of Diplomatic Missions poised to serve in key regions worldwide. Anwar underscored that the role of a diplomat extends beyond mastering protocol and official relations; it also requires a profound understanding of history, culture, political systems, and the nuances of local communities to ensure effective and meaningful engagement.

Anwar also emphasized the importance of continuous efforts to mentor and empower the younger generation of diplomats. He stressed that they should be equipped with broad knowledge, sharp thinking, and the ability to navigate the increasingly complex global geopolitical and economic landscape.

Furthermore, Anwar asserted that Malaysia would maintain its commitment to the principles of moderation, stability, good governance, and a diplomacy approach rooted in wisdom and universal humanitarian values, as it continues to represent the nation's voice on the international stage.
