Kepong: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the Aug 9 attack on an elderly woman who was doused with petrol and set alight at a lottery outlet in Taman Pusat Kepong. Sentul Police acting chief Supt Jasni Zolpa confirmed the arrest when contacted.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the suspect's arrest follows an incident where the 62-year-old victim suffered burns to about 50 percent of her body. The attack occurred when she was doused with a liquid believed to be petrol and set on fire at the premises.

Jasni stated that police were alerted at about 8 am concerning the attack on the victim, who was working at the counter at the time. The perpetrator was initially unidentified, but further investigation led to the arrest. A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow to provide more details on the case.
