Linkedua: Police issued 75 summonses and seized 31 motorcycles in an operation at the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (Linkedua) early this morning after identifying illegal racing hotspots where motorcyclists would perform dangerous stunts and disturb public order.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Acting Iskandar Puteri district police chief Supt Saifullah Jaya @ Yahaya stated that 50 motorcyclists and pillion riders, comprising 48 men and two women, along with 42 motorcycles, were checked during the operation from 1 am to 4 am.

'Offences found included not having side mirrors, no registration plates, fancy registration plates that do not follow specifications, modifying the vehicle structure such as exhaust pipes, not having driving licence and insurance coverage,' he said in a statement today. He added that a total of 31 motorcycles were seized, and 75 summonses were issued for violations of the Road Transport Act 1987.
