Kuala Lumpur: The police have initiated Op Lancar, commencing today and continuing until Monday, to ensure road user safety and facilitate smooth traffic movement during Hari Raya Aidiladha, which is set to be celebrated tomorrow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri announced the deployment of 1,858 police personnel to areas predicted to experience traffic congestion. He emphasized that the JSPT machinery will be thoroughly and systematically mobilized to alleviate traffic congestion on highways, federal roads, state roads, and municipal roads.
Mohd Yusri advised road users to stay updated on the latest traffic information through JSPT's official social media channels to plan their travels more effectively. He urged the public to act prudently and adhere to traffic regulations, specifically cautioning against queue jumping, misuse of emergency lanes, and obstructing traffic flows.
He stressed that stern actions will be enforced against road users committing offences that could potentially lead to accidents. Furthermore, he affirmed JSPT's commitment to ensuring the public can celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha in a safe and peaceful environment during their travels, underscoring the importance of public cooperation to ensure the comfort and safety of all road users.
