Sabah: The death of a Form One student who reportedly fell from a third-floor dormitory at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Tun Datu Mustafa Limauan in Sabah is currently under investigation by the police, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek announced.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Education is fully cooperating with the authorities in the investigation of the incident involving the female student. Fadhlina Sidek emphasized that the ministry's top management, along with herself, visited the student's family at the hospital to offer support and ensure their welfare needs are addressed.
The Sabah Education Department has extended immediate assistance to the family, which includes providing psychosocial support. Fadhlina urged the public to avoid making speculations that could disrupt the ongoing investigation and requested respect for the family's privacy during this period.
Fadhlina stated that appropriate actions would be taken based on the investigation's findings. She extended her condolences to the family, wishing them strength and patience in facing this challenging time.
The incident, which involved a former student of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pantai Sipitang, was highlighted on social media by a Facebook user, Dun Sindumin Sipitang. The student was buried at Tanjung Ubi Cemetery, Kampung Mesapol.
