Hulu kelang: The police have received seven reports regarding the issue of body management at the Ukay Perdana Islamic Cemetery, Hulu Kelang, which went viral on Thursday, and are currently conducting an investigation into the matter. Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said that as of 5 pm today, seven police reports related to the case have been received and are still under investigation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) denied that the delay in a burial process at the Ukay Perdana Islamic Cemetery, which went viral on Thursday, was caused by the Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Kampung Pandan Dalam. JAIS director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad stated that the delay was due to the confusion of family members of the deceased in handling burial arrangements, which also involved a non-governmental organisation (NGO), the Salatulrahim Welfare Organisation (BKS). He also denied claims that the mosque had demanded a payment of RM1,400 for handling the burial.
He added that a police report was lodged on Friday regarding the allegation of forgery of the Islamic Burial Application Form submitted to the cemetery management. In light of these developments, ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid urged the public to refrain from speculating on the issue and to allow the police to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into all parties involved. He also encouraged anyone with information to contact the Ampang district police headquarters at 03-42897222.
