Positive Results to Secure KWASN Grant for Young Rider, Says SIC CEO

Kuala Lumpur: Young national rider, Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli, is being urged to achieve as many positive results as possible this season to qualify for the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN) grant from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS). SIC chief executive officer, Azhan Shafriman Hanif, emphasized the importance of securing funds for the Terengganu-born rider's career, including opportunities like a wild card slot in the MotoGP competition.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azhan Shafriman mentioned, "It's still early days for the Rookies Cup race, he's only just finished the first round of the race with a double podium finish, so we hope he can maintain his positive momentum until the end of the year." He expressed SIC's commitment to securing additional funds to support Danish in the MotoGP in Sepang as a wild card rider.

Azhan Shafriman also disclosed that SIC has already raised approximately RM4 million, yet it remains insufficient to fully support the rider's participation in the championships. Efforts are underway to gather more funds, not only for Danish but also for another promising rider, Qabil Irfan Azlan.

Previously, Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh highlighted that Danish Hakim could benefit from the grant facility, provided he delivers positive results in the two championships he is set to compete in this season. The Junior GP World Championship and MotoGP Rookies Cup are crucial platforms for the 17-year-old rider, who is currently managed by SIC.
