Sungai Sumun: UMNO must regain its dominance by securing the highest number of parliamentary seats among all political parties in the next general election, stated president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman expressed confidence in achieving this goal, citing recent by-election victories as evidence of the party's growing strength.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the recent win in the Ayer Kuning state by-election as a significant indicator of UMNO's potential success. He emphasized the importance of these victories during his address at the 2025 Bagan Datuk UMNO Branches Conference, which took place at the UMNO Complex in Sungai Sumun.

The conference was officially launched by Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin, who serves as the political secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister. Ahmad Zahid also acknowledged the support and success of UMNO's allies in the recent by-elections, underscoring the collaborative effort to strengthen the party's position ahead of the general election.
