Alor gajah: Several primary schools in the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency will soon be equipped with ‘green labs’ to enhance digital literacy among pupils and expose them early to digital technology.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Alor Gajah MP Adly Zahari, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, stated that the initiative aims to introduce pupils to basic software and hardware applications, while nurturing creativity and digital awareness in a safe and structured environment. He emphasized that the green labs will allow pupils to produce creative content, learn about the digital world, and understand how technology can be applied in daily life. The program is designed to build digital literacy and reduce the pupils’ vulnerability to scams and other online threats.
During the ‘Jom Shopping Barangan Sekolah 2026’ programme at a supermarket in Pulau Sebang, Adly distributed RM100 vouchers to 500 pupils and students from underprivileged families to help them purchase school supplies.
Meanwhile, Adly mentioned that a technical committee set up by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) is conducting a detailed investigation into an RMN Super Lynx helicopter incident. The helicopter made an emergency landing during the New Year’s Eve celebration at Pantai Klebang. The committee aims to determine the cause of the incident and identify preventive measures for the future.
The emergency landing occurred at around 10.50 pm, involving a demonstration flight held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Army’s Grup Gerak Khas (GGK). All four crew members on board were rescued and taken to Melaka Hospital for further checks.
