Prime Minister Joins Sabah State Dinner Ahead of MTPMA63 Meeting

Kota kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the Sabah State Government Dinner in conjunction with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63) Meeting here tonight. His arrival at 7:50 pm was warmly received by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event saw the presence of Federal and state ministers, heads of state and Federal departments, and government-related agencies. Traditional Sabah cultural dances entertained the Prime Minister and guests before dinner was served. The evening was further enriched by performances from local singers Azharina Azhar, Sumarli Loli, and Ryenald Guntabid.

Earlier in the day, Anwar arrived in Sabah at 6:45 pm for a two-day working visit, which includes several scheduled official programmes. Among these is chairing the 2026 MTPMA63 Meeting tomorrow. He is also expected to perform Friday prayers at the Kampung Likas Jamek Mosque and visit the temporary evacuation center for fire victims of Kampung Numbak at the Damai Multipurpose Hall at noon.

In a Facebook post, the Prime Minister emphasized the enduring partnership between Sabah and Sarawak in the Unity Government, highlighting their commitment to national stability and regional unity. "Insya-Allah, the unity and trust that have been built will continue to be a strength in making the development agenda a success and guaranteeing the well-being of the people as a whole," he stated.
