Kuala Lumpur: Former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli said he has no intention of giving up on his political ideals despite losing the race for the party's number two position in the 2025-2028 leadership election.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rafizi expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, highlighting the emotional reactions from young party members who urged him to remain committed to PKR. In a Facebook post, Rafizi thanked those who sent messages and prayed for him, stating that he was deeply moved by the members' pleas.
Rafizi, who is Economy Minister and Pandan MP, also recognized the disappointment among grassroots members and supporters. He urged them to focus on the larger goals and not be disheartened by the recent election outcome.
In the election, Rafizi, who had been serving as deputy president since 2022, lost to Nurul Izzah, who secured 9,803 votes compared to his 3,866.
