Sibu: The Rimbunan Hijau (RH) Group is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, marking its transformation from humble beginnings in Sibu into a global conglomerate with diversified ventures across continents. Speaking at a press conference here today, RH Group Managing Director Datuk Tiong Thai King paid tribute to the company's founder, his elder brother Tan Sri Sir Tiong Hiew King, whose vision and leadership laid the foundation for RH's enduring success.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Tiong expressed gratitude for the growth and international presence that RH Group has achieved over the past five decades. He emphasized unity and perseverance as key factors in the company's accomplishments, attributing the milestone to all colleagues worldwide who have contributed to RH Group's journey.
To celebrate its Golden Jubilee, RH Group has organized a series of events for employees and the public. A major highlight will be the 'Night of Gratitude and Celebration' on May 12 at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadilah Yusof is invited as the guest of honour. The event will feature a drone performance involving 330 drones, a 12-minute musical fireworks display, and a stage performance by popular singer Shila Amzah.
Additionally, the group announced the 'RH Group Golden Jubilee Drone and Pyro Musical Fireworks Show Photography and Videography Contest 2025' to encourage public creativity and engagement. On May 13, Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will unveil the newly renovated facade and interior of Menara Rimbunan Hijau at 10 am. A Golden Jubilee Gala Dinner will follow at Dewan Chancellor, Universiti Teknologi Sarawak, attended by the Sarawak Premier.
Earlier festivities include the Golden Jubilee Celebration Golf Tournament on May 10 and 12, supported by six corporate sponsors with RM2.6 million in hole-in-one prizes. The RH Golden Jubilee Half Marathon, on May 4, expects over 3,000 local and international runners, with Sarawak Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, flagging off the participants.
