Tasik kenyir: The newly completed RM8.7 million jetty at Tasik Kenyir is expected to enhance tourism in the area by providing a more organized docking facility for speedboat and houseboat operators. Chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat announced that the project, which was approved under the Third Rolling Plan of the 11th Malaysia Plan (RMK-11), began in 2023 and was completed on July 6. The facility can accommodate over 80 houseboats and speedboats, and aims to improve safety, cleanliness, operational efficiency, and the overall image of the tourism area.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rozi emphasized the potential of Tasik Kenyir as a unique ecotourism destination, stating that modern and well-planned facilities are essential for enhancing the visitor experience and the lake's competitiveness as an international tourism destination. He expressed confidence that the jetty project would gradually resolve the issue of unorganised boat berthing around Pengkalan Gawi.

The project also includes various amenities such as fully equipped houseboat berthing facilities with electricity and water supply, a 600-metre pedestrian walkway, 86 parking bays, public toilets, a guard post, an electrical substation, a pump house, and a waste disposal facility.

Meanwhile, Rozi mentioned that KETENGAH received RM48.36 million in development allocations this year for 28 programmes and projects across Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, and Kemaman. Six projects are underway at Tasik Kenyir, including upgrades at the Sungai Petang Kelah Sanctuary Complex, slope repairs at tourist attractions, redevelopment of tourism facilities at Pulau Petang, construction of a public mini park at Gawi Point, redevelopment of facilities at the Herbal Park, and the Tasik Kenyir Jetty Development Project.
