RMAF Training Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport

Alor setar: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) confirmed that a Pilatus PC-7 MkII training aircraft made an emergency landing at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport here at 11.26 am today. The RMAF Public Relations Division announced that an investigation board would be established to determine the cause of the incident.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the aircraft was piloted by a trainee from the Flight Institute 1 (INSPEN 1) of the Royal Airforce College, who was conducting solo flight training at the time. The trainee was unharmed in the incident. The division also stated that all training flights would continue as normal despite the occurrence.

Earlier, Malaysia Airports had posted on social media that the airport was temporarily closed due to the emergency landing. This closure was necessary to allow for the removal of the aircraft and the cleaning of the runway. The runway was reopened at 3 pm after receiving safety clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), allowing flight operations at the airport to resume as normal.
