Rolls-Royce of Top Businessman Among Cars Seized in JPJ’s Op Luxury

Kuala lumpur: A RM3-million Rolls-Royce Cullinan, believed to belong to a prominent businessman, was among 53 vehicles seized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) during Op Luxury held in the Klang Valley since Wednesday, July 30. The operation concluded with the detention of three foreign men driving luxury cars without insurance and valid licences.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, senior enforcement director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan revealed that one of the detained individuals produced a fake international driving licence. This licence was discovered to be counterfeit upon inspection, and the individual later confessed to purchasing it abroad.

Muhammad Kifli highlighted that apart from expired road tax and insurance, the seized luxury vehicles were also involved in offences such as displaying unregistered number plates and other technical violations. The impounded vehicles include a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, two Lamborghinis, and an Aston Martin, all currently held at the JPJ storage depot for further investigation under the Road Transport Act 1987 and related regulations.

He noted that many luxury car owners claimed they forgot to renew their road tax and insurance. However, this excuse was deemed unacceptable as some vehicles had expired road tax dating back to 2022. Muhammad Kifli issued a stern warning, stating that JPJ has identified the locations and owners of over 1,000 luxury vehicles nationwide that lack road tax and insurance.

As a reminder, he urged vehicle owners to promptly renew their road tax to avoid confiscation, emphasizing that JPJ will not tolerate any non-compliance with road regulations.
