Rozali Ismail To Step Down As Puncak Niaga Executive Chairman

Kuala lumpur: Tan Sri Rozali Ismail will relinquish his role as Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd's (PNHB) executive chairman and retire as director of the company, effective June 30, 2026. In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, PNHB said Rozali, 69, will continue to serve in his present capacity during the notice period to facilitate a smooth transition.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the board has deliberated on the decision, considering factors such as Rozali's current health condition, personal commitments, and the importance of ensuring continuity of leadership and adherence to good corporate governance practices. The board expressed its sincere appreciation for Rozali's longstanding leadership, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the company and the group. His vision and stewardship have been pivotal in shaping the growth and success of PNHB.

Rozali is the founder of PNSB Water Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Puncak Niaga (M) Sdn Bhd, and was appointed as the executive chairman of PNHB and the group on April 24, 1997. In a separate filing, the company noted that Rozali began his career as a legal advisor with the Urban Development Authority before joining Bank Islam (M) Bhd in 1983, where he conceptualised Malaysia's first Islamic banking institution.

PNHB is a construction, property development, and environmental engineering group, following the sale of its water assets.
