Kota Samarahan:Arena Gemilang, DeTAR Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak Rul Azhar, whose full name is Mohamad Faqhrul Azhar Mohamad Zabandi, has emerged as the winner of the Bintang P. Ramlee 2026 competition. Representing the Northern Zone, Azhar captivated the audience with his rendition of the song "Derita."

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azhar received RM20,000 in cash, along with a trophy and certificate, after surpassing five other finalists in the event.

The runner-up position was claimed by Mahathir Zailani from the Sarawak Zone, earning him RM15,000, a trophy, and a certificate. Jeffryzan Jamil from the Sabah Zone secured third place, receiving RM10,000, a trophy, and a certificate.

Additionally, Mohd Ridzuan Md Taib from the Southern Zone was honored with the Best Performance award, which included RM2,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate.

Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg attended the awards ceremony and presented the prizes to the winners. Also in attendance were Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and Ministry of Communications secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah.
