Kota kinabalu: The Election Commission (EC) has initiated the application process for government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and other interested bodies to participate as election observers in the forthcoming 17th State Election of Sabah. These observers will be responsible for overseeing the electoral process from the nomination of candidates up until the declaration of the election results.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the EC has announced that applications for election observers are now open. The deadline for these applications will be communicated following a special meeting of the EC concerning the Sabah Election. This meeting, set for October 16, will determine the key dates and other relevant details for the election.
Sabah's Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, announced the dissolution of the Sabah State Assembly last Monday, necessitating a State Election to be held within the next 60 days.
