Kota kinabalu: The Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) today announced its plan to contest 40 out of the 73 state seats in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election. The party's president, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, revealed that 29 candidates have already been announced, with the remaining 11 candidates expected to be finalized shortly. Nomination for the state election is set for Saturday, with polling scheduled for November 29.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the list of STAR candidates includes Maklin Masiau for N02 Bengkoka, Shirewin D. Patrick for N06 Bandau, and Datuk Arlinsia Agang for N07 Tandek, among others. Other notable candidates include Raplin Samat for N08 Pintasan, Walter Mark Mukis for N09 Tempasuk, and Mohd Lin Harun for N10 Usukan.
The announced list further includes Jinitoh Sontori for N14 Tamparuli, Terence Sinti for N15 Kiulu, and Datuk Stephen Teo for N16 Karambunai. Datuk Kenny Chua Teck Ho is set to contest N18 Inanam, with Ting Shu Kiong vying for N20 Api-Api and Annita Shiela F. Among contesting N23 Petagas.
Additional candidates include Benard Logijin for N25 Kapayan, Beverly Natalie Koh for N28 Kawang, and Adrian Lajim for N31 Membakut. Moktar Matussin is the candidate for N35 Sindumin, Mohd Anuar Abdul Ghani for N37 Karanaan, and Pedderin @ Freddrin Tuliang for N38 Panginatan.
Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan himself is contesting N39 Tambunan, with Datuk Mohd Ishak Ayub for N40 Bingkor and Agustine A. Nain for N41 Liawan. The list continues with Alviana Linus for N42 Melalap, Hasmin @ Azroy Abdullah for N43 Kemabong, and Datuk Baritus Gungkit @ Evaristus for N44 Tulid.
Ireneus Pagut @ Jerneus Pagut is set to contest N45 Sook, with Suling Isib for N60 Tungku, Mohd Taha Mohd Dara for N66 Bugaya, Chee Kheng Moi for N67 Balung, and Datuk Fung Len Fui for N69 Sri Tanjong.
