Sarawak Allocates RM27.7 Billion for 1,387 Projects Under 12MP

Kuching: The Sarawak government has invested RM27.7 billion to execute 1,387 projects under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), as stated by the state's Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas. This expenditure accounts for 69 percent of the RM37.98 billion allocated for the plan. The projects include 987 physical initiatives and 400 non-physical initiatives, such as grants, contributions, investments, programmes, and events.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Uggah highlighted that 31 percent of the 987 physical projects have been completed, with 303 finished and 684 still in progress. These details were shared during his address at the Sarawak state legislative assembly sitting.

The Deputy Premier also addressed the rural transformation projects (RTP), noting that 13,366 projects valued at RM2.06 billion have been approved, with 56 percent of these projects completed. Under Projek Rakyat, which received a RM3.16 billion allocation, 351 out of 735 projects have been finalized.

Sarawak has received RM5.3 billion from the federal government as part of the Fourth Rolling Plan (RP4) of the 12MP, with 86 percent of these funds spent by the end of 2024. Uggah also mentioned that under RP5, RM4.3 billion has been allocated for 1,174 projects, with only 18 percent completed to date.
