Selangor Allocates RM15 Mln To Boost Investment, Job Creation

Selangor: The Selangor government has allocated RM15 million in the 2026 state budget to enhance investment programmes and foster balanced economic growth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that key initiatives include the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), Selangor Soft Landing Programme, Selangor Lab Partnership, and SME-Investors Linkages. He noted that Selangor recorded stronger investment activity in the first half of 2025, with 948 projects approved worth RM34.65 billion, compared to 897 projects worth RM35.87 billion in the same period in 2024.

Amirudin highlighted that this year's SIBS achieved its highest transaction value to date at RM8.17 billion, compared to RM13.86 billion from two editions in 2024. He also revealed that Invest Selangor plans to expand SIBS to other ASEAN countries to attract foreign investment and allow local companies to invest abroad.

'If realised, this proactive approach could unlock two-way opportunities, enabling Selangor companies to invest internationally while attracting foreign firms to set up operations here,' he said. The Selangor Soft Landing Programme has already attracted 13 investor companies, while the Selangor Lab Partnership, which involves six life-science firms, will continue into 2026.

Amirudin added that Invest Selangor will also launch the SME-Investors Linkages programme, which aims to connect local companies with foreign investors to broaden market access and strengthen their long-term position in the global value chain.
