Selangor Govt To Brief Law Makers On Putra Heights Gas Pipeline Explosion This Monday

Selangor: The Selangor government has scheduled a briefing this Monday for parliamentary and state assembly members to explain the issue of the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that the special briefing, open to both Government and Opposition lawmakers, was decided upon during the pre-council meeting with state assembly members yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has also requested the State Assembly Speaker to permit the state government to address the topic at the upcoming Selangor State Assembly session. He emphasized that the state government is committed to the principles of responsibility, transparency, and accountability, fully honoring the principles and mandate of the people. The Second Meeting of the Third Session of the Fifteenth Selangor Legislative Assembly is set to convene from July 7 to 18.

On June 30, the Selangor police held a special press conference asserting that no elements of mischief, sabotage, or negligence were identified that could have led to the gas pipeline damage and subsequent explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, on April 1. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan mentioned that this conclusion was drawn from the technical investigation following the explosion of the underground gas pipeline.

In response to the investigation findings, the state government established a special committee tasked with reviewing the full investigation and recommending any necessary follow-up actions.
