Selangor: A total of 24 tourism products in Selangor have been recognised this year under the 2025 Tourism Selangor Iconic Product Awards, reinforcing the quality and innovation of the state's tourism industry.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Chua Yee Ling stated that all 24 products were assessed based on several criteria, including uniqueness and product identity, visitor experience, cleanliness standards, management efficiency, and service quality. She noted that the recognised products represent some of the best offerings in their respective categories and would be given priority under various Tourism Selangor promotional initiatives.
Chua explained that the recognition is not merely an accolade for the operators, but also marks the beginning of closer collaboration between Tourism Selangor and industry players to strengthen the competitiveness of the state's tourism products. This includes listings in official marketing campaigns, familiarisation (FAM) trips, media visits, digital promotions, and participation in tourism marketing activities at both domestic and international levels, she said during the presentation ceremony for the 2025 Tourism Selangor Iconic Product Awards at the MBSA Convention Centre.
The awards covered five categories: Agro Tourism, Health Tourism, Gastronomy Tourism, Culture and Heritage Tourism, and Community-Based Tourism. In the Agro Tourism category, recipients included Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV), Saudagar Nanas, DurianBB, Lee's Cocoa, and Nur Lembah Pangsun Eco Resort. The Health Tourism category comprised Alpha International Women's Specialists, Avisena Specialist Hospital 2, MAHSA Specialist Hospital, Hospital Picaso, and KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital.
Gastronomy Tourism category recipients were Tart Nanas Warisan, Heritaste, Chop Guan Kee Coffee, TheFOODtree Restaurant, and Dking SS2. The Culture and Heritage Tourism category included Adunan Gamelan Irama Melayu, Sultan Alam Shah Museum, Kelab Wau Kapal Cagat Selangor, and the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque. The Community-Based Tourism category comprised Rumah Papan Pandamaran, Jungle School Gombak and IIUM JSI, Catopia Taman Kucing Shah Alam, Madu Kelulut Asli and Madu Bee-Xtra, and Inspirasi Hulu Langat Nature (Potpourri Herba).
The event also recognised recipients of the ASEAN Tourism Standards (ATS) 2026-2028, further demonstrating that Selangor's tourism products are capable of meeting regionally recognised standards.
