Selangor Strengthens Women’s Development Through ‘Jelajah Wanita Berdaya Tahan 2026’

Selangor: The Selangor state government, through Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS), continues to strengthen the women's empowerment agenda by organising 'Jelajah Wanita Berdaya Tahan Selangor 2026'. Selangor Women and Community Welfare Committee chairman Anfaal Saari said the tour focuses on aspects of economic development, social welfare, and family preparedness in facing current challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the organisation of the tour is also in line with the Selangor Women's Policy 2024-2026 and the Selangor Care Economy Policy 2024-2030 implemented by the state government. Anfaal Saari mentioned that the initiative aims to support community members affected by conflicts in West Asia, providing them with opportunities and information by bringing various agencies together.

The tour is designed to aid women in returning to work and mastering digital skills, including artificial intelligence. It features the Women's Career Carnival and the Career Comeback Workshop in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp).

The initiative will traverse five zones, starting from the Petaling zone and continuing through Hulu Langat, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and ending in Kuala Selangor. Anfaal Saari announced that the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) Foundation has allocated RM100,000 to support single mothers with food basket assistance and RM100 monthly vouchers under the Kita Selangor Programme for a six-month period beginning next month.

For the elderly, a RM50,000 grant has been allocated to the Selangor Social Welfare Department for 10 selected community programmes throughout the year. Anfaal Saari emphasized the state's commitment to strengthening childcare and social protection ecosystems to alleviate the unpaid care burden on women, ensuring they do not have to choose between career and family.
